Nostalgic for film

The Fujifilm X-Pro3 release, with the hidden LCD and what they call “Memory LCD”, has me feeling nostalgic for these days.

I pulled my film camera from the shelf and opened the case to a nice surprise. I didn’t realize that I still had a film box piece in there. Must have been the last roll I shot, years ago.

  1. I was just reading about the X-Pro3 and it seems like an interesting but expensive toy. There was some debate about in camera stabilization but to be competitive I’m sure it will have it.

    1. Exactly, it does seem like an interesting but expensive toy. I would love one but know that I wouldn’t use it near as much as I use my current cameras. I love the philosophy, though. Thanks for commenting!

    2. Once I started using my Fujifilm X-T2, I learned that many photographers buy adapters and attach vintage film lenses. I started doing the same using Asahi Spotmatic II lenses. I put a roll of Tri-X 400 in my Spotmatic II to try out. Fingers crossed.

I think the Fujifilm X-Pro 3 is styled and designed for people who want a high-performance camera but with a particular styling. Not all things have to be designed to appeal to the most significant number of people.

Quite frankly, if you are going to question someone’s choices, be prepared to have your own criticised.
